Frequently Asked Questions

What is Life Coaching?

Everyone wants to know how they can grow and become the best version of themselves. Coaching is the solution.

Coaching does not tell people what to do, rather, it helps them clarify and govern their lives. It assists people in evaluating their current actions in relation to their goals, dreams, values, and objectives. It provides people with fresh options and promotes transformation. Coaching enables a person to overcome mental barriers to what they previously believed was achievable.

Coaching works as a collaborative effort between coach and client to identify goals, make them challenging and inspiring, and then attain those goals with the energy that stems from their core beliefs.

Coaches are uniquely trained to assist people from all areas of life in achieving their objectives, living their values, and becoming the greatest versions of themselves.

How is coaching different to therapy and counselling?

Counselling and therapy are intended to solve the client's difficulties. The client seeks therapy or counselling because they are unsatisfied with their life and desire treatment from psychological and/or physical issues.

Instead of achieving their desired goals, they want to avoid pain or discomfort. Therapy and counselling frequently strive to understand the past and what went wrong in order to improve one's current situation. Coaching focusses on both the now and the future. A coach may work with a client who already has a wonderful life but wants to improve it further.

How is coaching different from training or teaching?

Training and teaching include transferring skills and knowledge to the student. The trainer or teacher is an expert.

In coaching, the coach is not the expert; instead of providing answers, the coach asks questions. Coaching explores the present and develops the future for the client; the customer learns along the way, but the coach does not teach explicitly.

How is coaching different from consulting or mentoring?

A mentor is a senior person who uses their experience to guide a junior employee. A coach is not required to be a senior executive in the client's industry. The client must understand the business, not the coach.

Consultancy focusses on the overall business system. A consultant's recommendations have an indirect impact on persons. Coaching has a direct impact on individuals. A consultant's recommendations for a firm will often include coaching.

Why is coaching growing so popular?

Coaching is growing popularity in both business and personal since it is one of the most cost-effective strategies to increase the effectiveness of individuals and organisations. It reflects the company's dedication to its employees while avoiding costly recruitment and retraining.

It is becoming increasingly popular as people expect to be able to do more and achieve their mental, emotional, financial, and spiritual objectives and goals. A coach assists individuals in accomplishing this task. A coach is someone who is dedicated to your success and well-being.

What are benefits of coaching to individuals and organisations?

Individuals will be clear about what they want out of life. They will pursue it with zeal now that they have removed the impediments that had previously stood in their way.

They will live a more fulfilling and happier life in all aspects. Professionally, they will be more successful and skilled at their profession, resulting in better outcomes.

Coaching is a long-term investment in improving business performance. It is the most cost-effective method of obtaining improved performance from critical personnel. Coaching demonstrates the company's commitment to training its employees and adds to a positive organisational culture with strong morale.

Coaching retains top personnel while avoiding:

1. The expense of retraining
2. Loss of company knowledge to competition
3. Productivity drops when employees leave.

What happens when you hire a coach?

You and the coach select how often the sessions will take place, how they will be conducted (for example, by phone, online and/or in person), and how long the coaching arrangement will last (for example, three or six months). Different coaches will offer various arrangements.

Who hires a coach?

Everyone, and anyone. Organisations use coaches to promote teamwork, train leaders, and assist managers. People use coaches to better their lives, relationships, and overall satisfaction.

Can coaching create dependency?

No. The coach wants the client to be autonomous and attain their goals. They make it obvious from the start that the client is accountable for and owns the coaching results. Coaching works to increase, not decrease, the client's self-reliance.

Can coaching be dangerous?

No. That's not possible. A coach does not provide therapy and will direct the client to another competent expert if it becomes required.

What is the relationship of NLP to coaching?

Some NLP skills can help a coach be more effective, but training in coaching is very different from training in NLP.
